To cooperate with the Ministry of Education's implementation of the "Program to Narrow the Gap in Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees Between Public and Private Schools and its Supporting Measures" (hereinafter referred to as the "Narrowing Program"), we hereby inform you about the arrangements for applying for children's education subsidies for the first semester of the 113 academic year.
Explanation:
1. In accordance with the Executive Yuan's Directorate-General of Personnel Administration's letter dated July 30, 113, with reference number 11300186911, and attached are copies of the original letter and its attachments.
2. According to the fifth point of the "Table of Children's Education Subsidies" attached to the "Guidelines for the Payment of Remuneration for Civil Servants and Public School Employees Nationwide," if civil servants' and public school employees' children are eligible for full exemption or reduction of tuition and miscellaneous fees, or have already received other government awards (subsidies), they are not eligible to apply for children's education subsidies.
3. Further to the Ministry of Education's implementation of the Narrowing Program, which provides a fixed reduction of NT$35,000 per academic year for tuition and miscellaneous fees for private university students and a comprehensive tuition exemption for high school students, based on the principle of not duplicating government subsidies for tuition and miscellaneous fees, students who are eligible for various tuition and miscellaneous fee reduction methods or subsidies from other ministries and agencies may choose the most favorable subsidy option based on their personal preference.
4. Starting from the first semester of the 113 academic year, the Ministry of Education has provided a list of returning students who received similar subsidies from ministries and agencies in the previous semester through the "Integrated Platform for Student Support Measures in Universities and Colleges" (hereinafter referred to as the "Support System"). This list is used by schools to inquire about students' willingness to receive subsidies in the new semester, and to generate tuition payment slips accordingly. Therefore, when colleagues apply for children's education subsidies, please comply with the following:
(1) Colleagues are requested to pay attention to the principle of not duplicating subsidies between the Narrowing Program and children's education subsidies. If the tuition payment slip still shows the "Executive Yuan Tuition and Miscellaneous Fee Reduction" subsidy, colleagues are requested to ask the school to replace the tuition payment slip, or to return the subsidy to the school before applying for children's education subsidies.
(2) The Support System will provide a list of applicants for children's education subsidies to universities and colleges for review and comparison. The Ministry of Education and universities and colleges will use the personal information of colleagues.
(二)助學系統將提供申請子女教育補助名單予各大專校院查閱比對,教育部及各大專校院將使用同仁個人資料之相關訊息。
