| 1. | Taiwan is surrounded by the sea, and its geography and marine environment are intertwined, shaping the island's rich ecology and culture. To encourage students and the general public to initiate and participate in marine affairs, since 2013, author Wu Ming-Yi and his mother, Ms. Wu Zheng Xiu-Yu, have annually funded NT$100,000 to establish the "Ms. Wu Zheng Xiu-Yu Kuroshio Grant." This grant continues to encourage and support various research and creative endeavors with "the ocean as the theme." |
| 2. | This grant is divided into four categories: "Marine Science Research," "Marine Conservation Activities," "Marine Art Creation," and "Marine Project Science Exhibition." We hope to see the expertise and creativity of every islander, allowing the rich layers of the ocean to be seen and understood by more people. |
| 3. | Applications for this grant are now open and will close on October 15, 2024. Projects can be entirely new or already in progress.
