| II. | The aforementioned event is co-organized by the National Public Information Library and the "Taiwan Society for Animal and Human Studies." From August 113 to June 114, under the theme of "Eating Animals," experts and educators from relevant fields are invited to participate, discuss, and spark diverse ideas with readers, anticipating responses to future life issues for themselves, their families, and the public. The series of lectures will cover topics such as SDGs, food and agriculture, and popular science. It will be conducted through in-person lectures and simultaneous online live broadcasts, accompanied by online and in-person book fairs, with 1-3 books introduced at each session. |
| III. | On December 22, 113 (Sunday), there will be 2 sessions held at the 5th Floor Haoyoung Hall of the National Public Information Library Main Branch (No. 100, Wuchuan South Road, South District, Taichung City). Online registration is now open, and admission is free. The lecture times and topics are as follows: |
| (1) | 10:30-11:30 - Seeing the Subjectivity of Animals: From One Health to One Welfare (Meat Consumption and Health), lectured by Assistant Professor Deng Ziyun from the Department of Veterinary Medicine, National Chung Hsing University. 1 hour of continuing education credit for civil servants will be awarded per session. |
| (2) | 14:00-15:00 - Eating Your Way to a Net-Zero Green Earth! Finding a Pig Willing to Be Eaten - An Initial Exploration of Ethical Issues in Livestock (Meat Consumption and Ethics), lectured by Dr. Long Yuanzhi, Director of the Taiwan Society for Animal and Human Studies. 1 hour of continuing education credit for civil servants will be awarded per session. |
