The Indigenous Peoples Affairs Bureau of Taoyuan City Government is holding the "Public Selection Plan for the Fourth Term Members of the Indigenous Peoples Development Committee of Taoyuan City Government." Recommendations or self-recommendations will be accepted from May 13, 114 to May 27, 114.
Details:
1. In accordance with Article 3 of the Establishment Regulations for the Indigenous Peoples Development Committee of Taoyuan City Government.
2. The selection plan is summarized as follows:
(1) Number of members and term of office:
1. Fourteen to eighteen representatives from each indigenous ethnic group, with one representative from each ethnic group in principle, who possess the identity of that ethnic group, and priority will be given to those registered in this city.
2. Three to five experts and scholars, of whom at least two must have indigenous identity.
3. The proportion of either gender among the members mentioned in the preceding paragraph shall not be less than 40%.
4. The members mentioned in the preceding paragraph shall serve on a voluntary basis, with a term of office of two years. If a vacancy occurs and the remaining term is one year or more, the Indigenous Peoples Affairs Bureau of Taoyuan City Government may, depending on actual needs, conduct another public selection in accordance with this plan, and the term of office shall be until the expiration of the original term.
(2) Qualifications for member candidates:
1. Representatives of ethnic groups:
(1) Possess indigenous identity.
(2) Registered in this city, but if there are no recommended candidates from any ethnic group in this city, registration outside this city may not be limited.
(3) Enthusiastic about ethnic group services or have outstanding reputation and deep understanding of indigenous affairs.
2. Experts and scholars representatives:
(1) Indigenous identity is not limited.
(2) Registration in this city is not limited.
(3) Possess expertise in indigenous policy planning, industrial development, education and culture, social welfare, public construction, and land resource utilization and management, with specialized works or related creations that enjoy considerable acclaim.
(3) Methods for recommending member candidates:
1. Recommendation by government agencies.
2. Recommendation by elected officials.
3. Recommendation by indigenous people, groups, or companies.
4. Self-recommendation.
(4) Selection process:
1. Announcement and recommendation period: 15 days from the date of announcement. Please complete the recommendation form and submit it in person or by mail to the Indigenous Peoples Affairs Bureau of Taoyuan City Government (6th Floor, No. 1, County Hall Road, Taoyuan District, Taoyuan City) by 5:00 PM on May 27, 114. The postmark or the official receipt stamp of the Indigenous Peoples Affairs Bureau of Taoyuan City Government will be the basis.
2. During the announcement period, depending on the recommendation situation, the Indigenous Peoples Affairs Bureau of Taoyuan City Government may visit elected officials and various bureaus and departments of this government to collect relevant opinions, solicit suitable candidates, understand their willingness, listen to their future visions, and invite them to participate in the selection.
3. The information on the above selection plan is also publicly available on the latest news section of the official website of the Indigenous Peoples Affairs Bureau of Taoyuan City Government (https://ipb.tycg.gov.tw).
