| Description: |
| I. | Facing the pressure of global warming and net-zero emissions, energy transition and technological innovation have become the focus of attention. In recent years, "Small Modular Reactors (SMRs)" as a new generation of nuclear technology, have often been regarded as a potential climate solution and are gradually becoming a topic in energy education in classrooms. |
| II. | The Green Citizens' Action Alliance invites you to participate in the teacher training session for the documentary "Atomic Bamboozle." Through film screening, lesson plan introduction, and discussion, we aim to help teachers grasp more diverse teaching resources and analytical perspectives. |
| III. | "Atomic Bamboozle," directed by psychologist and documentary filmmaker Janice Haaken, tells the story of local residents, scientists, and indigenous leaders in Oregon, USA, as they contemplate and act in the face of emerging nuclear technology development after the closure of the Trojan Nuclear Power Plant. The film also reviews the background of SMR technology development and points out the social discussions it has sparked regarding cost, safety, and nuclear waste disposal. Through a psychological perspective, it explores public dialogue on technology perception, intergenerational communication, and risk understanding. The event will also introduce lesson plans and teaching materials compiled by the director's team, assisting teachers in transforming energy issues into practical classroom discussion resources. |
