| II. | To enhance consumer understanding of dairy product information, the Ministry of Health and Welfare announced amendments to the "Regulations on the Names and Labeling of Fresh Milk, Sterilized Milk, Flavored Milk, and Milk Powder" on June 3, 114. The name has been revised to "Regulations on the Names and Labeling of Edible Animal Milk, Sterilized Milk, Flavored Milk, and Milk Powder." According to Article 3, Item 1, products that meet the definition of edible animal milk and fortified edible animal milk shall be labeled with the name "Cow's Milk," "Goat's Milk," "O (Other Animal) Milk," or equivalent terms. Only products that have obtained the "Fresh Milk Label" issued by the central agricultural competent authority or the "Certification Mark" under the "Agricultural Product Production and Verification Management Act" may be labeled as "Fresh Milk." This regulation will take effect on July 1, 115 (based on the production date). |
