Subject:Forwarding the "2025 Chiayi-Tainan Local Characteristic Earth Science High School Teacher Workshop [Geological Detectives on a Mission: Cracking the Paleoenvironmental Code in Rock Cores]" event organized by the Earth Science Academic Center for General High Schools and the Geological Survey and Mines Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. We encourage teachers and students from your school to actively participate. Please acknowledge receipt.
Details: 
I.In accordance with the letter from Kaohsiung Municipal Kaohsiung Girls' Senior High School dated September 16, 114 (2025), document number 11470771600.
II.Workshop Time: October 16, 114 (2025) (Thursday), from 9:20 AM to 4:30 PM.
III.Registration Location: 3rd Floor, Zhongcheng Building, International Exchange Room, St. Francis High School (No. 62, Zhongxing Road, Xinying District, Tainan City).
IV.Participants: Earth science teachers from high schools, vocational schools, and junior high schools nationwide. A total of 35 participants.
V.The workshop content is briefly outlined below. For detailed schedule, please refer to the attached event details:
(1)Analysis of Paleo-sedimentary Environments.
(2)Introduction to Geological Drilling and Core Handling.
(3)Geological Detectives on a Mission: Exploring Paleoenvironmental Changes in Southwestern Taiwan.
VI.Lecturers:
(1)Mr. Chuang Chao-ming, Technician, Geological Survey and Mines Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs.
(2)Mr. Hsu Kun-an, Technician, Shuanghe Applied Geology Engineering Consultants.
VII.Registration Method:
(1)Registration is open from now until October 12th via the National Teacher In-service Education Network (https://www1.inservice.edu.tw/index2-3.aspx). Course Code: 5224608.
(2)Admission Criteria:
1.Maximum of 35 participants, admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.
2.Only Earth science teachers from high schools, vocational schools, and junior high schools are eligible to register.
VIII.Participants who attend the entire session will receive a 6-hour workshop certificate for each session attended.
IX.The bureau approves public (duty) leave for teachers from public schools to attend the aforementioned event, with the school's consent. Private schools are requested to grant public (duty) leave to participating teachers according to their own regulations.
