Regarding the investigation into the demand for continuing education in the "115th Academic Year Postgraduate Education Credit Program for Remote Area Schools" Secondary School Teacher Program, please refer to the details below.

Details:
I. In accordance with the Ministry of Education's letter No. 1142603426, dated December 9, 114.

II. To enhance the professional knowledge of substitute teachers in remote area schools who do not hold teaching certificates, and to cultivate indigenous teachers required by indigenous key schools as stipulated in Article 34 of the "Indigenous Peoples Education Act," the Ministry of Education is promoting the "115th Academic Year Postgraduate Education Credit Program for Remote Area Schools" (hereinafter referred to as the "Remote Area Program") to provide pre-service teacher education courses.

III. Regarding the basis for implementing the Remote Area Program, eligibility for enrollment, and continuing education expenses, those who meet the criteria of Article 8-1, Paragraph 1 of the "Teacher Education Act" shall participate at their own expense:
(I) Current substitute teachers who have served in remote area schools (including special education classes) for a cumulative period of 8 semesters and have demonstrated excellent performance; for those of indigenous status, there is no limit to the service area for cumulative years of service.
(II) Current substitute teachers who have served in secondary schools (including special education classes) in remote areas within the same county or city for a cumulative period of 4 semesters or more and have demonstrated excellent performance; for those of indigenous status, there is no limit to the service area for cumulative years of service.
(III) Substitute teachers who have served in remote area secondary schools for 4 semesters or more in the subject for which the program is offered (including special education classes) and have demonstrated excellent performance.

IV. The aforementioned years of service shall be calculated up to the second semester of the 114th academic year. Years of service in secondary schools must be in the same teaching subject, and years of service in different teacher categories (secondary, elementary, special education, early childhood education) cannot be combined.

V. To improve the convenience of continuing education for substitute teachers in remote area schools who do not hold teaching certificates, this credit program will primarily be held on weekends (evenings) during the academic semester or during winter and summer breaks. A moderate combination of in-person and distance learning will also be adopted. However, the actual implementation method will be based on the arrangements made by each teacher education university.

VI. Current substitute teachers at this school who are interested in enrolling in the Remote Area Program and meet the eligibility criteria are requested to inform the Human Resources Office of their needs by Wednesday, December 17, 114.
