Subject:Regarding the forwarded promotional materials for the "2026 Overseas Youth English Service Camp" by the Overseas Community Affairs Council and the extension of the submission deadline, please have your school actively apply, as detailed in the explanation. Please acknowledge receipt.
Explanation:
I.In accordance with the Ministry of Education's Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (hereinafter referred to as the "Department") letter No. 1140135373 dated December 19, 114.
II.The Overseas Community Affairs Council (hereinafter referred to as the "Council") and the Department have jointly organized the aforementioned activity since 2006. The Council recruits volunteers, and the Department assists in recruiting domestic schools to participate. To date, over 7,000 overseas youth volunteers have returned to Taiwan to provide English volunteer teaching services to junior and elementary schools across various regions, benefiting more than 50,000 domestic students. The results have been significant and widely recognized by domestic and international communities.
III.For the upcoming year (115), the aforementioned activity plans to recruit 450 overseas youth volunteers. The Council will continue to implement the volunteer selection process through selection committees formed by overseas missions and will strengthen the communication of correct service awareness and adherence to camp rules to the selected volunteers. Online volunteer courses will be provided before their arrival in Taiwan, followed by on-site training upon arrival, to rigorously screen and enhance volunteer quality. Furthermore, to assist the Department in alleviating the pressure on schools regarding emergency care for volunteers during their service period, outsourced human resources support for related tasks was incorporated into the procurement for the aforementioned project in 114. The aim is to provide more comprehensive assistance to schools through timely human resource support from contractors during their on-campus service.
IV.The submission deadline for the aforementioned project will be extended to December 30, 114 (Tuesday). Please refer to this Bureau's letter No. 1140113852 dated November 18, 114 (assumed to be received) for application procedures. Please have your school actively apply to participate in the aforementioned activity to expand opportunities for overseas youth to participate in volunteer services in Taiwan, enhance the English learning effectiveness of your students, and facilitate the promotion of our nation's 2030 Bilingual Policy.
V.Attached are the QR-Code for the 20th-anniversary commemorative video of the Overseas Youth English Camp, the promotional video, and related reports, one copy of each.
