Subject: Forwarding the "Cool English Reading King" competition guidelines for 115 academic year, commissioned by the Ministry of Education's National Academy for Educational Research (hereinafter referred to as the NAER) and organized by National Taiwan Normal University, for your reference.
Description:
I. In accordance with the NAER's letter dated May 12, 115, No. 1155501482.
II. To assist students in cultivating good reading habits and thereby enhancing their English reading ability, the NAER's English online learning platform (Cool English) has established the "Fantasy Reading Kingdom" and "Magical Reading Journey" sections. These sections select English e-picture books with diverse themes and moderate difficulty, accompanied by Chinese translations and full text readings. Questions are formulated based on the content of the articles to help students assess their comprehension after reading through quizzes. To encourage national elementary and junior high school students to continuously utilize the reading sections of the aforementioned platform to strengthen their English reading skills, the "Cool English Reading King" competition is being organized.
III. Participants: Students in the 3rd to 6th grades of elementary schools (Elementary School Group) and students in the 7th to 9th grades of junior high schools (Junior High School Group) nationwide, whose academic status was announced after promotion for the first semester of the 115 academic year (September 1, 115). Each group is further divided into a General Area School Group and a Remote Area School Group based on their school's location (the Remote Area School Group is defined according to the "List of Remote Area Elementary and Junior High Schools" announced by the Ministry of Education for the 114 academic year, including schools classified as remote, very remote, and extremely remote).
IV. Registration/Answering Period: From Monday, June 15, 115, to Friday, July 31, 115. The competition adopts a registration-first, then answering system. Participants must accurately complete the registration form before they can enter the answering area to answer questions (the end time of the event will be based on the last answering time displayed on the platform's website).
V. Starting from the 114 academic year, the NAER has introduced a teacher incentive mechanism for all Cool English competitions organized by National Taiwan Normal University. Teachers who lead a group of students meeting the standards set forth in the competition guidelines will be awarded. Please encourage teachers to actively lead students in group registrations for the competition. Additionally, please encourage students to log in to the platform using their Cloud Education Account to participate in the competition, enabling them to access multiple online learning platforms with a single account.
