Subject: To inform that the "115 In-service Teacher Professional Development Credit Courses" funded by the Ministry of Education and offered by teacher education universities will be launched successively during the summer vacation. Related course information can be found and registered on the official websites of each university, the National In-service Teacher Professional Development Information Network, and the Ministry of Education's "Good Teachers and Friends - Teacher Education Integration Platform" (URL: https://teachernet.moe.edu.tw/), as detailed below. Please take note.
Details:
I. In accordance with the Ministry of Education's letter No. Tai Jiao Shi (San) Zi No. 1152601768 dated June 29, 115.
II. To align with the implementation of the 12-year basic education, enhance teachers' professional competence, improve educational quality, and respond to teachers' needs for in-service professional development, teacher education universities are subsidized to offer professional development credit courses in various fields/categories, integrating important educational issues as appropriate.
III. Key details of the 115 in-service teacher professional development credit courses are as follows:
(I) Course Topics: Including gender equality, marine education, outdoor education, human rights, rule of law and transitional justice education (including consumer protection), technology information and media literacy/safe internet use for students, life education, new immigrant and multicultural education, food and agriculture education, inclusive education, social-emotional learning (SEL), adaptive physical education, and reading literacy education, totaling 12 topics.
(II) Target Audience:
1. Qualified full-time in-service teachers in senior high schools, elementary schools, and kindergartens.
2. Qualified in-service substitute, temporary, or part-time teachers with a valid teacher certificate for senior high schools, elementary schools, and kindergartens, and a contract of three months or more.
3. Foreign in-service teachers teaching in senior high schools, elementary schools, and kindergartens with a contract of three months or more and meeting the qualifications stipulated by the Employment Service Act.
(III) Course Credits and Schedule: 2 to 3 credit courses, with tuition fees fully subsidized by the Ministry of Education; courses will be offered during the summer vacation or on weekends during the academic term. Some courses also offer distance learning.
