キャンプでの水遊びの注意点

{{ $t('FEZ002') }} 学務処|

1. In view of the recent accident at the Wujie Dam in Nantou, where the sudden release of water claimed 4 lives, which has attracted nationwide attention, how to prevent such tragedies from happening again requires thorough planning and preparation before departure, careful selection of legal camping sites, and avoidance of dangerous areas in valleys and waters; when camping in unattended areas, pay attention to whether there are nearby warning signs. If you see warnings such as "rushing water, whirlpools, undertows, or sudden rising of river water," do not enter the water or set up camp, because some riverbeds appear to be only knee-deep but are actually steep. Once a flash flood occurs or a dam releases water, there will be no escape. Even with basic self-rescue skills, the danger is still high.
2. Regarding the following precautions for camping and playing in the water, please use various channels to strengthen publicity:
(1) Please choose legal campsites.
(2) Slopes and riverbanks are easily affected by weather, causing landslides or sudden rising of river water. Do not set up camp by the riverbed.
(3) Upstream dams and power plants may release water at any time. Do not enter the river to ensure your safety.
(4) Maintain a safe distance from riverbeds and seashores, and choose hard and flat ground for camping.
(5) Do not enter the water immediately after drinking and eating to prevent accidents.
(6) Do not rashly enter the water while wearing jeans or shoes.
(7) When playing in the water, do not overexert yourself or overestimate your abilities.
